Redefining affordable luxury is PURO hotel’s ethos. The brief was to engineer this through a design that was as youthful, fun and innovative as the brand itself.

After the successful launch of both Wroclaw and Krakow PURO hotels, Rune Askevold, Managing Director, re-appointed Blacksheep to collaborate on creating the design strategy for what would be their biggest hotel to date – PURO Poznan. A contemporary gem, PURO Poznan is by far the most design focused hotel to date.

Poznan is home to Poland’s design university and is just an hour’s drive to Berlin. Being situated in such an influential location has allowed the design team to push the boundaries of the PURO experience even further & deliver a fresh and fun look that’s fitting with the local demographic.

Blacksheep commenced the process by infusing the PURO ethos into the design which aims to redefine affordable luxury as we know it. Unique and exciting zones were created that blend seamlessly into the overall scheme and contribute different offerings to make your stay not just a comfortable one but also an inspiring experience.

The main hub of activity – the lobby, is a lively space arranged to create an atmosphere where one can relax, work, meet friends or business partners. Cultural events and concerts take place here and entice locals and guests alike to enjoy the facilities on offer.

Modern design enthusiasts can appreciate the uniqueness of the concept as an eclectic mix of modern furniture, curated artwork and objects can be found throughout. The attention to detail is visible in every corner of the hotel where each piece of furniture has its own history. The cultures and traditions associated with Poland are weaved throughout various design elements to capture the essence of the country. Through pieces of art by local and international artists, an extraordinary ambience has been created, one that is not only chic but also stimulating and energetic.

The brand itself is youthful, fun and innovative with a passion for technology which is reflected through various touch points throughout the hotel. Guests have the option to utilise convenient check-in kiosks & each room is equipped with a user friendly tablet acting as a control panel for room appliances and ordering services.

Free coffee machines were implemented throughout the public spaces to give something back to guests whilst encouraging them to stay and enjoy the hotel’s facilities. This also entices guests and locals alike to mix and socialise together, further serving to educate and integrate the guest into the local culture of the region.
