Art Deco and modern Asian cuisine in exquisite harmony within Akira Back’s first European restaurant
Brand Strategy | Interior Design
Akira Back is the Michelin-starred chef whose first European restaurant is in the Prince de Galles on Avenue George V in Paris. There are few more prestigious addresses and even fewer with such iconic Art Deco architecture. Even the room that contains the restaurant is listed.
Our challenge was to blend old and new – the beauty of the marble with the colour and precision of Akira’s modern Asian cuisine – without harming the existing materials. We did it with a contemporary twist of smoked-glass overlay panels. The result is opulent and understated – the perfect foil for the magnificently architectural food on the table.
